Wake up to the iPod alarm clock radio

The iHome iH5 is meant to ease you so soothingly into the day that it's like being licked awake by kittens.

We've grown too attached to our iPods it would seem. Even when we're at home we can't be without the darn thing. If it's not plugged into the stereo in the lounge, it's sitting in one of those docks specially designed to be built into the wall of our toilet. And now the cheeky little fruit is looking to barge its way into our bedroom. See, the iHome iH5 alarm clock dock encourages you kiss your beloved iPod goodnight, and then let it be the first thing you hear and see when you wake up.

The iH5 features a built-in dock with recharger, a pair of 2.5" stereo speakers, AM/FM radio and a beefy backlit LCD screen. It supports third and fourth gen iPods, iPod Photo and iPod mini. And according to iPodlounge it features a 'Gentle Wake and Gentle Sleep' mode which is meant to ease you into the land or the living or sooth your into dreamland accordingly without too many tantrums. It's pencilled in for launch Stateside in August and should cost around $100 (£55).
