New Walkman rocks up
New B100 Series looks to conquer planet tiny MP3 player.
Sony has told us to prep our USB ports in anticipation for their latest dinky Walkman, the NWD-B100 Series. Aimed squarely at blowing the Shuffle and Creative's pebble-like Stone out of the water, it weighs a mere 30g and is a breeze to use.
Shove it straight into your PC like any USB stick, and you can drag and drop tunes onto it. Best of all, it'll automatically transfer recently added tracks from your music folders, so you can keep down with the kids. A spot of Kate Nash perhaps?
The 1GB, B103/103F version will take a very specific 660 songs, the 2GB, B105/105F sucking up 999 rap bangers, or any other type of tune for that matter.
Plus, if you're packing a USB type stereo, you can shove it in there too, and record music from CDs.
You'll also find an in-built mic, with the 103F/105F versions able to record radio from its FM transmitter. An Apple-slapping touch, we think you'll agree.
There's no price as yet, but it'll be hitting the street next month.
