Microsoft Zune: Countdown to launch
Microsoft's called a press conference to deliver their answer to Apple's new iPods.
We're fairly sure we know all there is to know about Zune. It'll pack Wi-Fi, but no direct music purchasing, that wheel isn't really a wheel, just five buttons, and there are already a range of peripherals ready and waiting for it.
Still, Microsoft could surprise us tomorrow. According to sources it's ready to lift the lid on its master plan to take control of our pockets.
We've heard there's a smaller version in the works to challenge Apple's nano - and we're sure Microsoft would love to beat the 'Podfathers at their own game so soon after Apple's launch on Tuesday.
We're also waiting for a firm release date, although we assume it'll be before Christmas, we had heard murmurs of a launch as early as next month. Of course, we're also waiting for an all important price tag for iPod's latest challenger.
Lastly, tomorrow could see Microsoft could unveil its online media store, the final piece in its 'Pod-bothering puzzle.
Whatever the outcome, we're hoping the final player looks as tasty as this mockup from our expert artist Adam Benton. Check out the gallery for a closer look at this year's least secret, but most intriguing MP3 player.
