iPod joins the mile high club

Rock out to Apple's iPod, even with the wind beneath your wings!

Leaving on a jet-plane? Don't forget your iPod - Apple's just teamed up with a host of airlines to put dock connectors in every seat.

It means you'll be able to charge your player en-route, enjoy music without deadening your battery and watch all your mucky videos on the headrest of the person in front!

So far Apple's convinced Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United to join the iPod love-in, but it's also working with Panasonic Avionics to bring 'Pod holes to the armrests of other airlines soon.

The jet-setting girls at GadgetCandy are doing loop-the-loops with joy now their iPods can accompany weekend shopping trips to Paris and Milan, and we reckon it could mark the end of terrible in-flight movies.

Announcing the move, Apple proudly points out that the "iPod ecosystem" now boasts 3,000 accessories made specifically for the player. Does that make a jumbo jet officially the largest item with a "Made for iPod" badge?!
