Apple signs up for phone standards
The clearest sign yet that the iPhone's on its way?
Looks like those rumours of an imminent iPhone launch could be closer to the mark than we thought - Apple's just joined an industry body for standardising mobile phone apps, sharing a bed with the likes of Nokia and Sony Ericsson.
Joining the Khronos Group is an interesting move from Apple, as the last time it joined a body with no direct relationship to its current products, it was BAPCo, a Windows benchmarking consortium.
That move was followed just nine days later by the release of Boot Camp, allowing Mac owners to run Windows on their Apple machines.
Could this be a case of history repeating itself? We've been wittering on about the iPhone for months, but recent reports say Apple's mobile is just around the corner.
Whatever happens, Apple's annual World Wide Developer Conference is only six days away now, and we've cleared a space in our pockets, just in case!
